#148 Wisely and Earnestly

For years I've been driving by this wonderful classic old barn just down the road from us.  I have so often thought that I should stop and take a photo before a big wind comes and finishes it off.  Today I got by it, then took time to back up and capture because I was living in the present moment.

#147 Destination

This house perched so precariously on the rocks in a little village on Fogo Island, Newfoundland, caught my eye.  It looked like it washed up from the sea. I think perhaps that might not be its final destination.

#146 Undreamed Shores

It's cool when you hear a quote that you like used in its original context. I was at 'A Winter's Tale' last night in Stratford and my ears perked up when I heard this.  I've used it for years and never knew which play it came from.

#145 Up Stream

Wouldn't you think if you were 'up stream' that the goods would be carried right to where you are?  But if you were down stream, you'd have your drink before the water reached the herd?  I better investigate this one.

#144 Peace

The sun was low in the sky when I took this photo of our mock orange bush last night. The colours and the translucency, immediately brought the 'peace' to mind. A soft and gentle peace.

#143 Through It

Well yes, that would certainly appear to be true in many cases.  A similar quote is 'The only way through it, is through it.'  Keep focused; keep going.

#142 Be Grounded

The perfect example with these beautiful wild flowers that I snapped on the side of a mountain in Ireland.  You can see the hard, jagged rock is barren. But where it is softer and giving, a beauteous bounty appears.

#141 Air

Down the road from us in Newfoundland, right beside the church, there is a field of wild iris and buttercups.  When the gentle breezes blow, they dance together. They certainly do seem to be enjoying the air they breathe.

#140 A Little Flower

These tiny little flowers were growing on the walls of an old castle ruins in Ireland. New life on old with that little splash of colour and softness the cold, hard stone. Softness and colour is a good prescription indeed.

#139 Colour Sings

That's exactly how I feel when I look at this photo of my friend. That colour sings! In this case, a very happy, joyous song.

#138 Mistakes

Exactly.  Where's that going to get you?  The mistakes will find us soon enough without worrying about them ahead of time.

#137 Criticism

That basically goes for being critical of yourself too. That's exactly why I'm not going to fuss about the fact that I've had a little detour from my mission. I'm going to get right back to doing something and saying something.

#126 Nice & Easy

We are enjoying in the most delightful, beautiful historic town of Galway ... charming, delightful and filled with wonderful treasures.  It has such a historic feel ... a church that Christopher Columbus visited. You'd almost think you were transported back a few decades, until you stop into the cyber cafe and call home for 8 cents a minute.

#125 Friendships

A very deep and moving day spent in Northern Ireland.  On the back of a book I read 'if someone tells you that they understand Irish history, they are misinformed.' Complex and overwhelming.

#124 Warm

Left Dublin for a three day tour around the Island.  Headed to Belfast with a very interesting and eclectic group of 34 travellers.  Along the way we stopped in Drogheda to have a peek at Oliver Plunkett's 400 year old head.

#123 A Rainbow

Today we were delighted to attend the most interesting event - The Smithfield Horse Fair. It's been going on in the same spot since the 16th century. Oh how I would love an Irish Cobb horse!

#122 Walls for the Wind

Here I sit in Dublin, Ireland - just did have a warm cup of tea with a friend. And before that we had a Guiness in a wonderful old pub.  We have a roof for the rain and lots of laughter ... all that my heart desires.
