#90 Sing it Back

I love this quote. It's a shame that it's 'unknown', I'd love to give them credit.  It's far more inspiring and memorable than many that have names attached to them.

#89 Simple Things

One of my favourite things about spring is getting to hang the wash out again. It is indeed a Real and Simple thing to do. A real simple thing that brings me great joy.

#88 Understand

I wonder about the Picasso's tone when he said this. Was it with sarcasm or frustration in having people constantly assessing his paintings. The message being that art is simply to be enjoyed - nothing more than that.

#87 Cheer

And no one can be uncheered with Winnie. He may be a Bear with Very Little Brain but he has some important stuff to share when he Thinks of Things.

#86 The Common

So many wise people over the years have said the same thing in different ways. Such eloquence. Such wisdom.

#85 Music & Cats

I suspect that there are lots of people who would agree with Albert. Both can be calming & soothing, playful & fun, comforting or entertaining. And so are Dogs, you say?

#84 I Prefer

Easy enough to agree with this. In fact, I agree with pretty well anything that Kahlil Gibran came up with. He's an all time favourite wisdom-meister.

#83 Carry Less

I recalled this quote when I was creating my collections piece, but I have no idea where it came from. Although I can't seem to do it with material stuff, I try to live by it mentally and emotionally. Just as important and relevant IMHO.

#82 Faster Horses

Now isn't that the truth! Just goes to prove that when we have a seed, a thought, an idea, we shouldn't depend on the opinions or consensus of everyone else. If ya got the vision, GO for it!

#81 Be True

I like to focus on that more than 'to thine own self be true'. If one authentically lives Thoreau's quote, surely the other would follow naturally. Or perhaps it is the chicken before the egg thing.

#80 Paint Life

Oh yeah ... paint 'er up, baby. Now isn't that a joyful thought. Perhaps the seed for Chicago's 'Colour My World':)

#79 EVERYTHING is a Miracle

Don't you think that it's cool that someone like Albert Einstein would appreciate how miraculous life is. It is you know. From the very first breath to the last.

#78 Your Work

This is such empowering wisdom from Buddah. I automatically read it as 'with all your heart, give it to yourself' & I have to rewind and read it again. Really though - either work & are words to live by.

#77 Reawaken

If I were wise, I would get myself up and see more Dawns. There is one every single day ... beautiful, inspiring, peaceful. But I must confess, the number that I actually see are few & far between ... gotta rectify that.

#76 Lo

You can tell that this is a very old quote because of 'lo'. You don't hear that much anymore. It also said 'Thy brother & thine boat' - I updated that, but what does one do with "lo"?.

#75 Leave A Trail

Again, it is often the children who are most confident in taking anything BUT the path. Where is the challenge in walking where everyone else has trod? We need to keep that sense of adventure.

#74 Walk Forever

Today is the birthday of my first friend. Forty five years later we still walk in the garden of friendship amidst a multitude of colourful memories. Happy Birthday, my friend:)

#73 artISt

Playing is the answer. Having fun, not needing anyone's approval and not accepting anyone's judgement. Goes for art and everything else in life.

#72 NOWHERE

Interesting how the placing of one single space can make such a difference. Spell check couldn't discern the difference as they're both relevant words, but the meaning could hardly be more opposite. Especially when you're talking about your state of mind.

#71 We Shall Find

There's a story about this particular photo - it involves the person who has the hands in the previous photo. But since I have to keep this to three lines, I can't tell it here. One day I will though, on EVolution.

#70 Listen

In my love affair with Hands, these are two of my favourite. This touching photo is of two lovely souls who are very dear to me: my 93 year old aunt and my adopted Nan who is 99 in a few weeks.

#69 Paint

Yeah Vincent, I agree with you. We can be our own harshest critic or worst enemy. Don't listen to those voices in your head!

#68 Breathe

Another shot of sunrise at the end of our road in Newfoundland. It's such a peaceful spot - looking one way you see all the little islands and the other, the ocean. A perfect place to BREATHE.

#67 Strength in Silence

I love Chief Dan George. What a beautiful face filled with such character. And a heart filled with quiet wisdom.

#66 Beauties & Mysteries

How true is that. If we had the presence of mind to look at every single thing in our world as the incredible miracle it is, we would be perpetually amazed & entertained. We would be awake and aware with no space or time to be lonely or weary.

#65 Warm You

Good old Henry was obviously a practical man -he knew what he was talking about. Another tidbit of Henry's wisdom is often quoted by my hubby: 'Better a fast nickel than a slow dime." Ford ... the better idea:)

#64 Equals

Here's another Winston Churchill quote. When you think of the gems of wisdom and lasting words that Churchill left behind, you hardly would associate him with pigs. I wonder if that came up in a speech he gave or simply in conversation with a pork farmer.

#63 Captains of Our Soul

This photo, believe it or not, is the way the camera captured a sunset in Newfoundland. I love the power of this quote. It's a powerful thought to be Captain of your Soul.

#62 Let Go

Ten years ago, at a particularly challenging time in my life, I was given this poem on a little card. For me, it is a message of the power of faith. I carry it in my wallet to this day.

#61 Light One Candle

Have you ever been in a totally dark room and lit a candle? The light thrown by that single flame is quite remarkable. It is enough light to see your way to gathering up more, if that's what you're needing.

#60 Anonymous

Yep, my styles - what I create & what I like, are all over the map - from the softness of an innocent little Victorian child to a fun & funky wild woman. Yesterday's vintage image is on a background created from an antique music book. This colourful one is made from playing with alcohol inks.
